HOW DO I OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH YOU?
To open an account you can click here. Check the tickbox at the top of the page and fill out the form, please include your billing address, full collection address and Bin location directions/instructions to help our teams to find your bins easier.
HOW ARE COLLECTIONS CHARGED?
We charge per standard 60L size bag collected. An invoice for services provided will be sent to the billing address on a weekly basis (monthly on request) and will need to be settled within 30 days from the end of the month in which service first started, thereafter we operate on a 30 day payment term. Any use of over-sized bags will be charged at an increased rate corresponding to the size of the bag. If you set up a Direct debit for payments, please be aware the amount won’t be taken from your bank until 30 Days after an invoice is issued.
HOW DO I SEPARATE MY WASTE?
BLACK BAGS are for general waste and will all end up at an Energy from Waste plant to be incinerated, producing electricity.
ORANGE BAGS/CLEAR BAGS are the bags we give our teams to use if guests have left loose waste, rather than bagging it. Orange bags for smaller amounts, clear larger bags if the bin is very full and needs tipping out.
GREEN BAGS are for dry, mixed recyclables, specifically meaning glass, metal cans and tins, or plastic bottles and milk containers.
ARE THERE ANY STANDING CHARGES?
NO. We would like to offer a service that can be relied on in times of increased demand and not paid for in the quieter times. This gives you the best of both worlds, – low costs and commitment to service.
WHEN DO YOU COVER MY AREA?
We collect holiday home waste from every postcode in Cornwall and ever-increasing parts of Devon. We will send you your set collection day for your area in your welcome email, or you can email/call us with your collection address for us to check for you before opening an account.
We are expanding our routes all the time so feel free to give us a call, if we are not in your area now we probably will be soon!
HOW CAN I BOOK A COLLECTION?
- Just click on the ‘Book a Collection’ button on the homepage
- Scroll down to “owner collection and click BOOK
- After you select your required date on the calendar, click on the 7:00am next to it to continue.
DOES WASTE NEED TO BE BAGGED FOR COLLECTION?
Yes. Your waste is removed from the bins by hand, so, its important that all the waste that you would like removed from the bins is bagged. Our charging is based on a standard 60l bin bag. This keeps our round operating efficiently and an efficient round means no contracts.
DO I RECEIVE PROOF OF COLLECTION?
You will receive the weekly invoice as Proof of collection, We also store the job report images taken by our drivers after each collection, these can be emailed on request or we can add a note for you to receive these weekly during our “signing off” process, if you would like to be set up to receive the photos weekly, just get in touch. We are always happy to review report images if required.
I’VE BEEN ASKED TO PROVIDE PROOF WE HAVE A PRIVATE COLLECTION?
A waste transfer note/Duty of care certificate is created per collection in the system, these are stored for you in your customer portal to access or can be emailed on request. This allows the homeowner proof to the council that you are managing your holiday home wastes lawfully.
DOES EACH ROUND NEED TO BE BOOKED?
YES. Each round will need to be booked in, in one of the above mentioned ways. Not booking will mean no collection for your property.
Please have all requests for the coming weekend in by Wednesday 12PM
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ATTEND MY PROPERTY AND FIND AN EMPTY BIN?
As we are offering a service with the best of both worlds on offer, we need co-operation to keep our service running efficiently. Whenever an empty bin is at the property during a period in which collection has been arranged a charge is levied, be sure to cancel the collection to avoid unnecessary charges. This will help us to attend only the properties needing our collection service. This keeps our round operating efficiently and an efficient round means no contracts. You can cancel a collection last minute with us over the phone up until the last working day before your booked collection day
ONCE I HAVE AN ACCOUNT, WILL YOU ATTEND THE PROPERTY ‘AUTOMATICALLY’?
No. Each collection event needs to be actively booked using our online booking service which is available for bookings and cancellations 24/7.
CAN I BOOK AN EMERGENCY MID WEEK COLLECTION IF I MISS THE DEADLINE?
We can look at sending a truck and driver out to your property for an emergency, subject to availability, this will be an additional charge for this on top of bags collected, the charge varies depending on distance rot travel, just get in touch for a quote.
WHAT LEGALITIES NEED TO BE COVERED TO OPERATE A COLLECTION SERVICE?
To operate in line with the law, a waste carriers license issued by the Environment Agency is needed. We operate a permitted waste transfer station and our fleet holds the required waste carriers license. The final element is the waste transfer note, Waste transfer notes cover your duty of care for your waste and provide you evidence of responsible disposal of your waste. When the council enquires if your property is using the council collection rounds our waste transfer note serves as evidence that you are using a paid for service in place of the council collection rounds.
ADVICE FOR PROPERTY MANAGERS.
1. Always ensure your waste is both bagged and available at the agreed location for collection on collection days
2. Please make sure you have booked your collection in, we do not attend properties without request to do so. You can book a block of collections in to make the collection arrangement easier and would recommend doing so by mail or via the online booking facility on the website
3. Whenever an empty bin is at the property during a period in which collection has been arranged, be sure to cancel the collection to avoid an unnecessary charge.
